With shorter days and the holidays starting to capture your attention, there’s an unmistakable sense that 2024 is winding down. And while you may feel the urge to close the door on this year and let your business naturally ride it out, these final weeks actually hold so much potential for setting a strong foundation for 2025.

If you're craving clarity and direction for your business, it's time to tap into your Winter Arc.

A New Approach to Your Next Year

January comes with optimistic resolutions, high hopes and a sense of pressure to tie up loose ends and set course for the new year. But more often than not, these intentions are not maintained through the year. In fact 80% of resolutions fail after one month, with most being abandoned by mid-January.

Popular in personal development and wellness spaces, a Winter Arc is an intentional three-month transformation period (October to January) focused on locking into the growth we want to see for the coming year, rather than waiting for January 1st to start making changes. For a business owner, this is the perfect time to take a step away from working ‘in’ your business to working on it.

By stretching out your goal setting over a series of weeks, time is now on your side. You can feel your way through changes and make any tweaks necessary, and truly have the space to envision what 2025 should be. It also puts you in the mindset to start wrapping up 2024 now, instead of rushing to piece things together in the new year.

While it might seem counter-intuitive to start these shifts during one of the most hectic times of year, it actually is the perfect time to plant seeds for success.

Why Now Is The Time To Get Rooted

  1. Being Busy Is An Advantage: The end of the year is a busy and often hectic but if you start creating habits and goals now, you’ll be able to easily maintain them when things settle back down.

  2. Leverage Your Business Cycle: For certain industries the holiday rush can bring a lull to our business, whether it’s intentional step back or a reflection of the market. If this is you, why not create some momentum now, so you’re not starting back up from zero come January.

  3. Embrace The Dark: Early nights are the perfect excuse to start focusing back on you. Saying no and staying in becomes way easier, take advantage of it. Hunker in and create some rituals that you look forward to.

  4. Take Cues From Nature: In the last months of the year we see fields become barren and trees lose their leaves. The Earth is preparing for its next growing season by stripping back, resetting and restoring. As earth-bound creatures, we are no different. Let these themes guide your Arc.

The Winter Arc in 3 Phases

Wrapping up an entire year, only to turn around and start planning the next not an easy undertaking. So that’s why I broke down the Winter Arc into three essential parts:

ONE- 2024: Reflect & Release

Before embracing new growth, you need to create space by letting go. This means looking back on 2024 and taking an honest look at what worked and what didn't in your business. Some aspects of your business, routines or lifestyle might not align with where you're heading—and that's okay.

TWO- Energetic Reset

This is where mindset work becomes crucial. Rather than jumping straight into vision work and goal setting, you first need to process and understand where you’ve been. This neutral space allows you to meet yourselves where you are, understand your current position and tap into the energy needed to visualize and plan 2025 with intention.

THREE- 2025: Actualized

The final phase is where everything comes together—visualization, manifestation, planning, and dreaming big. Once the big goals are set, you can begin to work backwards to figure out what shifts need to be made today to get there.

Remember, there's no rush to completely transform your business by January 1st. The Winter Arc is about working with the season's natural energy to create sustainable change, and this work can continue throughout the winter months. The key is starting now and letting the quiet power of winter guide your business evolution.
